Shri Mangal Ashram Trust, situated in the holy heart of Haridwar, was established with a profound vision to provide a selfless sanctuary for pilgrims. Under the divine guidance of Guru Ji, the Ashram has become a beacon of spiritual solace for those visiting the banks of the sacred river Ganga.
Located just 1.5 km from Bhimgoda Kund, our history is rooted in the tradition of "Seva" and "Satsang." We believe that every devotee who enters our gates should find not just a room, but a home that nourishes the soul. The journey started with a small prayer and has now grown into a trusted trust serving thousands of yatris during Kumbh Mela and Chardham Yatra.
Swami Ji was born in the village of **Kirsola, Haryana**, into the family of Shri Siochand and Smt. Nani Devi. Growing up in a rural farming household, he was deeply influenced by his mother's religious nature, often accompanying her to temples and satsangs.
After the early loss of his wife and witnessing the transient nature of life, a profound sense of detachment (Vairagya) awakened within him. At the age of 30, with his mother's blessings, he sought initiation into sanyas under the guidance of **Swami Bhavanand Ji Maharaj**.
Under his Guru's tutelage, he mastered profound scriptures like Vichar Chandrodaya and the Brahmasutra. Blessed by Goddess Saraswati, he became a spiritual poet, composing nearly **1,100 hymns and bhajans** that brought peace to thousands of listeners.
In 1949 (V.S. 2006), he established **'Mangal Vishram'** in Rishikesh, which became a sanctuary for monks. Swami Ji was known for his extreme renunciation—he never touched money and spent his life traveling to guide people toward a life free from addictions.
After 54 years of selfless sanyas, at the age of 84, Swami Ji chanted the sacred sound of **"OM"** and merged into the Brahman on the banks of the Ganges in 1981 (V.S. 2038), leaving behind a legacy of purity and devotion.
As the sole disciple of Swami Mangalanand Ji, **Swami Lakshyanand Ji** has walked faithfully in his Guru's footsteps. His dedication was so profound that Swami Ji would often praise his selfless service as the ultimate fruit of devotion.
